This card wishes our clients the best of health and fortune stepping into the new Year of the Pig (2019), blossoming even more vibrantly than that which can be represented visually.
This card consists of visuals constructed from a mixture of type and traditional Chinese calligraphy as an expression of appreciating tradition and integrating it with modern aesthetics. 9 different Chinese New Year greetings are each transformed, with a calculated truncation of space, into forms reminiscent of traditional Chinese seal scripts. These scripts are then hand-carved onto Chinese seal stones by a traditional seal engraver in Hong Kong, before being manually pressed onto the ends of the branches that spell out the English meaning of those Chinese greetings by us.
Each of the three hundred cards are numbered by hand, as a heartfelt wish that these greetings will ring true not only for the coming year, but for the years to come as well.
